Cory's inspiration is rooted in his faith, love for
woodworking and nature. He got started as a woodworker while living in
the Catskill mountains in upstate New York. He wanted to propose to his soul mate and
spent countless time trying to decide how he would come up with a ring
as beautiful and unique as her. One day, it dawned on him. A
handcrafted, wooden ring for her. It would be something no one else has.
He began to work rigorously at it, with continuous study and trial and
error. He finally came up with a design and woke her up one morning and
placed it on her finger. They have never looked back. It was so much fun
for him that he decided to continue doing it.
What began as a ring for an engagement turned into genuine interest
in sharing his wood jewelry with others. He now makes not only wood rings, but
wooden crosses and necklaces. You will find that his work is simple and beautiful and that every piece is different. David Cory also likes to
develop his artistic passions through writing music,
drinking in the Words in the Bible and God's architecture. One of his favorite quotations is, "If a
man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as
Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote
poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and
earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his
job well."... by Martin Luther King.
Now based in Tyler, Texas and New York City, David is recognized for
his earthy, woodcrafted jewerly that combines art and nature. Why don't you go look and tell us what you think. Lord bless you!
